Aiden Haunts is the owner of a small spooky business called BooKimi! They are a family created shop, making designs for an audience of collectors who have a love for all Holidays, especially Halloween! Together, they create a variety of Handmade and Machine Embroidered goodies, direct from their NC studio. Aiden’s process begins with developing and intricately digitizing each design in preparation for their industrial embroidery machine. Much testing goes into fine-tuning his compositions until each layout is perfected. With high quality stitching, their keychains are embroidered on sturdy Marine Vinyl, and their Iron-on Patches are stitched on Cotton Twill and Denim.
Back in 2015, Aiden discovered the fantastic world of JPD, and they have been collecting Johanna’s treasures ever since. From that day on, Aiden dreamed of working with Johanna to bring more vintage-y goodness into the world!
Along the way, Johanna was intrigued by Aiden’s soft sculpures and crocheted creations through mentions on Instagram. To her surprise, Aiden and family have expanded into embroidered patch production, a niche accessory, commonly requested by JPD fans and a category that Johanna was looking to develop. When Aiden proposed a collaboration, Johanna drew up a few concepts, and BooKimi worked their magic on a sampler package of JPD threaded delights!
Aiden’s entrepreneurial spirit, creative force and attention to detail, along with a shared love for all things spooky sweet Halloween, were the magic mix to make dreams come true! This artist combo looks forward to growing a collection of seasonal accessories together. Keep an eye out for more BooKimi + JPD collaborations to come!
