On May 9, 2022, Our Sweet Jack passed beyond the veil, and our hearts are heavy with sorrow. He was the center of our world, and for an astounding 22 years, he graced us with his adoring presence and also touched countless lives across the map. Despite his incredibly determined spirit, his ailing body could no longer keep up with our creative adventures together. So, his full time care and comfort have been our top priority. We created our own in-home kitty hospice of sorts, and have been doting over Jack. While this last chapter of Jack's journey was very difficult for all of us, we are grateful to have enjoyed so many years of frolic, snuggles, laughter and precious memories.

It is clear that he enjoyed being the source of our inspiration, our creative muse and an unconditional comfort for over 2 decades of merriment and mischief. Jack was a one of a kind legend in the making. He enjoyed the camera, charming many by modeling our seasonal fashions and bringing spirit and love to our product and home photography. On queue, when the cameras came out, he pranced right in and knew it was his time to shine. He adored the attention and praise and allowed us to spread so many smiles from these memorable moments.

We adopted Jack as a kitten, a few years before Johanna Parker Design was born! Little did we know that Jack would inspire the creation of an iconic black cat character that has become so distinct to our brand. This signature black cat design has led to a vast collection of Halloween decorations, folk art, illustrations, products, and so much more. It is truly awe-inspiring to imagine the countless hearts that Jack has touched and tickled through our art, collaborations and photos. No words can describe how much he will be missed…

One thing is for sure… Jack will be haunting our hearts from the other side, spreading smiles and inspiring more mischievous designs.

Jack left a huge paw print in our lives and has been an unforgettable influence on the manifestations of Johanna Parker Design.
